On April 24-25, 2018, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will hold its 24th Scientific Colloquium on “OMICS in risk assessment: State-of-the-art and next steps” in Berlin, Germany. The event will “explore the opportunities for integration of datasets produced via specific OMICS tools within the remit of EFSA’s risk assessment approaches.” After the opening plenary session, there will be four different discussion groups: 1) Genomics for identifying and characterizing microbial strains used in food and feed products, 2) using metabolomics in comparative risk assessment of genetically modified (GM) plants, 3) using OMICS in human risk assessment of chemicals, and 4) using OMICS in environmental risk assessment.
