On June 12-13, 2003 the final conference of the “Nanostructured Materials- Health, Exposition and Material Properties” (nanoGEM) project will take place in Berlin, Germany. At the conference scientists will present their research on the production, characterization, exposition, modes-of-action, pharmacokinetics and toxicity of nanomaterials. The conference also includes presentations on risk assessment and communication. The nanoGEM project is a cooperation of different industries, universities and research institutes and aims to shed light on the risks arising from the increased use of nanomaterials in consumer products. The conference is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
