On February 12, 2015 the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) published a draft report on the Threshold of Toxicological Concern (TTC) approach. The report summarizes conclusions and recommendations of the joint EFSA/WHO expert workshop held in December 2014 in Brussels, Belgium. The workshop aimed to collect views on how the TTC framework could be improved and expanded by updating/revising the Cramer classification scheme. The workshop was preceded by a stakeholder meeting in order to gain a broad input and about 100 people representing NGOs, industry, government, academia and consumer organizations participated (FPF reported). The draft report is now open for public consultation until March 29, 2015. The final event report will be published in late spring 2015.
