On April 8, 2016 the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF Panel) published the latest update of the meeting minutes of its Working Group on Food Contact Materials (WG-FCM). The 12th meeting of the WG-FCM was held on March 1-3, 2016 in Parma, Italy. During the meeting, draft opinions on the following substances for use in FCMs were discussed: 2,3,3,4,4,5,5-Heptafluoro-1-pentene (for use as monomer); poly((R)-3-hydroxybutyrate-co-(R)-3-hydroxyhexanoate; dimethyl carbonate (for use as monomer); phosphorous acid, mixed 2,4-bis(1,1- dimethylpropyl)phenyl triesters (Weston 705) (re-evaluation); sodium polyacrylate, cross linked; and VINNAPAS LL 8324 (for use as plastic additive).
