In an article published on July 18, 2016 the non-profit organization Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) informs about two public consultations launched by the European Commission (EC) on the criteria to identify endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) for plant protection products and biocidal products. The EU published a proposal for EDC criteria on June 15, 2016 (FPF reported). Many environment and health groups as well as the science community have criticized the EC’s EDC criteria for not adequately protecting human health and the environment from the adverse effects associated with exposure to EDCs (FPF reported).
