On September 15-17, 2015 the “Innovations in Food Packaging, Shelf Life and Food Safety” conference will take place in Munich, Germany. The event organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV), Germany and the academic publishing company Elsevier aims to provide a discussion platform where academics and industry representatives can meet to develop concepts and technologies needed for new food contact materials (FCMs). Participants will also have a chance to explore technologies for food applications and examine the influence of FCMs on shelf life and food safety. The conference will further focus on sustainable food packaging materials, including bio-based FCMs such as edible films.
