In an article published on January 13, 2016 by the news provider Plastics News, reporter Jim Johnson informs about a new recycling process for polystyrene (PS) that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for production of disposable, single use food contact articles. The recycling process was submitted for review by U.S. plastics manufacturer Aaron Industries Corp. The PS resin consists of up to 100% recycled content from post-industrial and post-consumer sources and will be available under the name ARPS-100-2FDA.
