On October 5, 2017, the Food Packaging Forum (FPF) held its fifth annual workshop in Zurich, Switzerland, focusing on “Scientific challenges in the risk assessment of food contact materials.

Dr. Karim Bschir, Senior Researcher at the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences, ETH Zurich, Switzerland, argued that good science is not value-free because scientists regularly have to make value judgements (FPF reported). In a short interview, he highlighted that potential scientific errors due to wrong judgements may have serious consequences. Therefore, scientists should be transparent about their values.
