On July 15, 2016 the industry group American Chemistry Council (ACC) published a set of fact sheets about the reformed Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the U.S. chemicals legislation of 1976, now entitled the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (short Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act or LCSA). On June 22, 2016 U.S. President Barak Obama signed the reform bill modernizing TSCA into law (FPF reported). In a four-page document, ACC summarizes the implications of LCSA on the protection of human health and the environment, economic growth and chemical manufacturing in the U.S., and innovation. The document also contains a ‘frequently asked questions’ section. ACC also provides a condensed one-pager containing information about LCSA.
