On February 26, 2017 the French television channel France 5 aired a documentary entitled “Colorants, édulcorants, conservateurs, que cachent-ils?” about the use food additives with a focus on nanoparticles. The documentary reflects the opinions of the food industry (e.g. French retailer Carrefour) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and reports on a recent scientific study by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) on the effects of oral exposure to titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles (FPF reported). Also, the French non-profit organization Agir pour l’Environnement’s campaign against nanoparticles in food products is featured.
