In an article published on February 17, 2016 by The Huffington Post U.S., journalist Casey Williams report on a new mobile phone application helping users to limit their exposures to chemicals of concern (COCs). The mobile app is called Detox Me and was developed by the non-profit organization Silent Spring Institute which has been researching the effects of environmental toxicants on human health for the past two decades. Detox Me informs people about COCs found in household and other everyday consumer products as well as ways to avoid them. Further, shoppers can scan product barcodes to learn information about the items they want to purchase.
