On January 22, 2015 the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) announced it is conducting a survey to collect information on experiences and opinions on methodologies currently used for the risk assessment of chemical mixtures. The survey addresses experts from authorities, academia, non-governmental organizations, consultancies and industry that are involved in both human and environmental risk assessment of chemical mixtures. The collected results will be used by the JRC to develop a more consistent and EU-wide methodological framework for characterizing effects and risks from exposure to mixtures. In November 2014, JRC published a comprehensive report on safety assessment of chemical mixtures (FPF reported) highlighting that in the EU legislation exposure to mixtures is currently only partially addressed.

The survey can be accessed here. The deadline for filling out the survey is February 28, 2015.
