In an article published on May 17, 2017, non-governmental organization International Chemical Secretariat (ChemSec) announced the launch of a new online resource called “Marketplace,” aimed to improve the visibility of safer alternatives to toxic chemicals. The website offers information on commercially available substitutes for hazardous substances, presented in the form of ads created by companies. Since this information is searchable, Marketplace “provides both a unique market opportunity for producers of safer alternatives, as well as a one-stop shop for progressive companies looking to substitute hazardous chemicals in their products,” explained ChemSec’s executive director, Anne-Sofie Andersson.

ChemSec invites all stakeholders to visit the new website. Interested supplier companies are invited to register and join other “forward-thinking chemical producers” who have already created their product ads.
