On July 11, the North American Metal Packaging Alliance issued a press release (pdf) expressing concern about the U.S. FDA’s decision to ban bisphenol A (BPA) from infant formula food packaging. In the press release, NAMPA states that there is a “potential for consumers to be misled or confused regarding the decision”. NAMPA stresses that the FDA’s decision was not based on safety concerns.
