On June 15, 2015 the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) announced that it has updated eChemPortal so that chemical classifications according to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) can be better accessed. The eChemPortal (or Global Portal to Information on Chemical Substances) is an open access web portal hosted by the OECD and provides access to information of regulatory relevance on industrial chemicals, pesticides and biocides. With the new search mode by GHS classification, users can now view GHS classifications for individual chemicals that have undergone a review by a regulatory body or intergovernmental organization. The first data sources linked to via the GHS search are the Classification & Labeling Inventory (C&L Inventory) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and the GHS Classification Results by the Japanese Government.
