On October 17, 2017, the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) informed about two new publications by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on manufactured nanomaterials. The first publication is a summary dossier of the OECD’s Testing Programme of Manufactured Nanomaterials on silver nanoparticles. The summary dossier covers physical and chemical properties, information on exposure, hazards to the environment, and toxicological information. The second publication is a new test guideline on the “Dispersion stability of nanomaterials in simulated environmental media.” Along with this publication, two further test guidelines on subacute and subchronic inhalation toxicity studies were adapted to nanomaterials.
