On September 17, 2015 the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) informed about its new web platform on substituting hazardous chemicals. Several websites provide guidance for industry on how to replace chemicals or techniques of concern with safer alternatives. The platform also includes business cases, videos and articles that outline the benefits of substitution from consumer, academia and company perspectives.
Further, ECHA will host two webinars addressing substitution in September 2015. The first webinar “Why opt for substitution?” will take place on September 22, 2015 and provides practical information for companies planning to implement substitution (FPF reported).
