On February 18, 2014 the Taiwanese news agent Taipei Times published an article announcing the registration requirement for food additives by May 1, 2014. By then, food additive manufacturers, processors and importers must register with Taiwanese health authorities, whereas food additive sellers will have to register by October 1, 2014. The measure shall allow the rapid tracing of substandard food products.
