On May 2, 2013 the Senate of Minnesota adopted House Bill HF 459, which bans bisphenol A (BPA) from food containers containing infant formula, baby food, or toddler food. The House Bill had been passed by the Minnesota House of Representatives on April 26, 2013. Minnesota has already banned BPA from baby bottles and sippy cups, but BPA continues to be used to line cans and lids intended for children under three. If adopted the bill would come into effect on August 1, 2015.
