On May 29, 2014 the non-governmental organization The Collaborative on Health and the Environment will hold a webinar on the science, risk and public health impact of nanomaterials. Nanomaterials are used in many consumer products, including food contact materials but only few have undergone adequate safety assessments. During the call Vicki Colvin, professor at Rice University, Andrew Maynard, environmental health scientist at the Michigan School of Public Health and Jennifer Sass, senior scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), all U.S., will discuss potential health effects of nanomaterials, how nanomaterial interact with the environment and organisms, and what kind of policy opportunities exist to protect public health. The call will take place on May 29, 2014 at 1pm EST.
