The second webinar in a webinar series «Effects of Plastics on Health,» hosted by Collaborative on Health and the Environment’s (CHE), took place on December 3, 2018. Ksenia Groh from the Food Packaging Forum, Zurich, Switzerland, introduced the Database of Chemicals associated with Plastic Packaging (CPPdb), which was compiled as part of a larger FPF research project. She also discussed the chemical safety aspects of using recycled plastics for food packaging. Leonardo Trasande, MD, MPP, Associate Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics, Environmental Medicine, and Population Health and Chief, Division of Environmental Pediatrics at the NYU School of Medicine, together with Rachel Shaffer, MPH, from University of Washington Seattle School of Public Health, both U.S., presented the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Policy Statement and Technical Report on Food Additives and Child Health. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session moderated by Steve Heiling, MPH, CHE‘s director of Public Health and Education.
