The Climate Change Leadership Conference focusing on «Solutions for the Wine Industry» took place in Porto, Portugal on March 5-7, 2019. In a special session focused on packaging and transportation, Jane Muncke from the Food Packaging Forum presented about the complexities of food packaging, specifically focused on the chemicals in packaging and migration into food. A key message from her talk is that environmentally friendly packaging is about more than just having low carbon emissions. Other speakers during the session included Tiago Moreira da Silva (BA Vidro, S.A.), Pierre Corvisier (JF Hillebrand Group), Vicente Sanchez-Migallón (World Bulk Wine Exhibition), and Kim Carstensen (Forest Stewardship Council).
