The Department of Ecology (DoE) for the U.S. state of Washington will host its next webinar within its ongoing alternatives assessment to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in food packaging on April 14, 2020 (FPF reported). The event will be interactive with the agency seeking feedback from stakeholders on questions related to the 2017 Interstate Chemicals Clearinghouse’s (IC2) guidance on alternatives assessment. Specific topics to be discussed with stakeholders include “essential functions, whether alternatives meet these essential functions, and possible over-engineering of PFAS-containing products for certain product types.” Two earlier webinars on the alternatives assessment were held in January and February 2020 (FPF reported). Registration for the webinar is open.
