On May 7, 2014 the German chemical company BASF announced the doubling of the production of Hexamoll® DINCH® from 100 000 to 200 000 metric tons. The non-phthalate plasticizer is used in food packaging, medical devices and toys. In the press release, BASF states that the doubling is a response to increased customer demand for alternatives of phthalate-plasticizers.
