The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) announced on January 9, 2019 that its 8th summer academy will be held from August 8th to 23rd in Berlin and will focus on “risk assessment and risk communication in the area of food safety.” Led by scientists from BfR, the event “is intended for the members of staff of public organizations engaged in food and feed safety, who have already experience in risk assessment analysis.” According to the event’s flyer, participants in the two week course will, among other learning objectives, “be made familiar with the concept of food safety with a focus on Germany and Europe and particularly in regard to risk assessment and risk communication.” The event is limited to 40 participants, and the application period will open on the event’s page at the end of January.
