On October 21, 2014 the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) announced the launch of the new chemical information portal ChemAgora. This new platform allows users to search publicly available databases (currently twelve) containing both chemico-physical and toxicological information related to human health and ecotoxicity.

Target chemicals can be searched by their name, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) registration number, hashed structure representation (InChIKey) or chemical structure. ChemAgora also allows to search third party databases by an identifier, which was in some cases not originally available in these repositories.
