In an article published on August 17, 2020, the regulatory news provider Packaging Law reported on new food contact substances and resins that are listed in draft clearances published by China’s National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA).

On August 5, 2020, CFSA solicited comments on the new uses of one food contact substance (1,3,5-tris (2,2-dimethylpropanamido) benzene, CAS 745070-61-5) and two food contact resins (1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid, polymer with dimethyl 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol and 1,2-ethanediol, CAS 35176-78-4; 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid,1,4-dimethyl ester, polymer with decanedioic acid, 2,2- dimethyl-1,3-propanediol and 1,2-ethanediol, CAS 51382-28-6). In addition, expanded uses are foreseen for four food contact substances (C.I. Solvent Red 101, CAS No. 1309-37-1; magnesium hydroxide, CAS 1309-42-8; aluminum magnesium hydroxide carbonate, CAS 11097-59-9; and polycyclooctene, CAS25267-51-0).
