In a press release published on August 21, 2019, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) announced the opening of a public consultation on 21 food contact substances. These include additives and resins that are either new or under consideration to be used in an expanded scope or level. An article from law firm Keller and Heckman LLP provides a full list of the substances with CAS numbers in English. The substances are reported to be under review for development of maximum use levels as well as additional restrictions such as migration limits. Four annex documents are included with the press release that provide the full list of substances and additional information in Chinese. Comments are being accepted by the Chinese authorities until September 19, 2019.
