A conference entitled “Biobased Packaging 2015” will be hosted by the Bioplastics Magazine on May 12-13, 2015 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Among other topics, the conference agenda will include presentations on biobased materials with suitable barrier properties for food packaging. Markus Schmidt of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV), Germany will discuss food packaging based on renewable resources from a researcher’s perspective and Remy Jongboom, Director of Business Development at Biotec, will talk about a sustainable and heat-resistant material for food packaging.
