According to a press release published September 4, 2014 by the news provider EurActiv the trade association PlasticsEurope will hold a conference entitled “Science driving consumer protection: how plastics deliver” on October 20 and 21, 2014 in Berlin, Germany. The aim of the conference is to discuss next steps for consumer protection and to establish a multi-stakeholder dialogue including the entire value chain, according to the press release. Confirmed speakers include Roland Franz from the Fraunhofer Institute Freising, Germany, Mark Lohmann from the German Federal Institute for Risk Evaluation (BfR), Johannes Mertl from the Austrian Research Institute for chemistry and Technology (OFI) and Chris Howick from the company Ineos Vinyls.  Registration is possible on the website of PlasticsEurope.
