In an article published on April 25, 2019, news provider Dairy Reporter informed about a new online platform for the European plastic converter industry to track the use of recycled polymers in products. The “Monitoring Recyclates for Europe” (MORE) platform was developed by the industry association European Plastic Converters (EuPC) to collect data on the “volume of recycled polymers used by plastic converting companies to create new products” and to stimulate a “higher uptake of recycled polymers.”

The platform is set to expand over the next three years by adding additional “modules” including a feature to monitor the recycled polymer volumes pledged by the plastics industry, integration of additional criteria related to EU regulatory requirements such as certification of origin, and inclusion of data on additional recycled polymer types and markets. The platform is currently available in multiple EU languages and plans to expand to others by the end of the year.
