On February 17, 2020, the European Commission (EC) opened a feedback period on the roadmap for the government’s ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy. Overall, the strategy aims to “accelerate the transition towards a sustainable food system that should have a neutral or positive environmental impact, is capable to adapt to climate change and at the same time contributes to climate change mitigation, ensures food security and creates a food environment which makes healthy diets the easy choice for EU citizens.” The strategy is an initiative within the recently announced European Green Deal (FPF reported) and is being led by the European Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE). Feedback is being accepted on the roadmap until March 16, 2020.
