On February 11, 2015 the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that its Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) had adopted 13 opinions covering five active substances in 10 product types. One of the adopted opinions concerns hydrogen peroxide (HP). HP is an existing active substance evaluated in product-types (PTs) 1 to 6. Uses in biocidal products under PT 4 include applications in aseptic packaging (disinfection of packaging for milk products), surface disinfection in food processing facilities and disinfection of distribution systems for drinking water.
