On October 16, 2018, the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes and Processing Aids (CEP Panel) published the minutes of the second meeting of its Working Group (WG) on BPA reevaluation. The meeting was held on September 28, 2018, by phone conference.

During the meeting, the WG discussed “the results of their study appraisal” for the safety reevaluation of bisphenol A (BPA, CAS 80-05-7) as well as “the rationale for their choices.” The term “endpoints” as defined in the BPA hazard assessment protocol (FPF reported) was clarified. Further, the WG members discussed the “criteria for the selection of the studies for testing the methodology” and distributed “[i]ndividual tasks and deadlines.”

The next meeting of the WG is scheduled to be held on October 25, 2018, in Parma, Italy.
