On May 15, 2019, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes and Processing Aids (CEP Panel) published the minutes of the fifth meeting of its Working Group (WG) on Recycling Plastics. The meeting was held on April 16-17, 2019 by teleconference.
The WG discussed draft scientific opinions on several recycling processes, including Poly Recycling, Marcato, PETman, Reco-Kavala, V&T Trade, Sharpak Bridgewater, Pinaform, and Ferrarelle. For the Poly Recycling process, scientific evaluation has been suspended until submission of additional data required for risk assessment. For all other processes, draft opinions were “discussed and deferred to a next WG meeting for further discussion.”
