On January 18, 2017 the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF Panel) published the minutes of the second meeting of its Working Group (WG) on BPA assessment protocol. The meeting was held on December 12, 2016 by phone conference.
During the meeting, new developments regarding the preparation of the protocol for the reassessment of bisphenol A (BPA, CAS 80-05-7) were discussed, including the initial screening and appraisal of the literature. Key parameters and criteria (not further specified in the minutes) were agreed on; also, individual tasks and deadlines were assigned to WG members.
The next meeting of the WG is scheduled to be held on January 26-27, 2017 in Parma, Italy.
