On March 15, 2017 the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF Panel) published the minutes of the fourth and fifth meeting of its Working Group (WG) on BPA assessment protocol. The meetings were held on February 24 and 27, 2017, respectively, by phone conference. The fourth meeting of the WG involved the subgroup on human studies and the fifth meeting was held by the WG’s subgroup on animal studies. The subgroups discussed the expert feedback received regarding “the revised appraisal forms” for the human and animal studies on bisphenol A (BPA, CAS 80-05-7) to be considered in EFSA’s reassessment of the safety of BPA. No further detailed information was provided in the meeting minutes.
The next meeting of the WG was scheduled to be held on March 2-3, 2017 in Parma, Italy.
