On March 22, 2017 the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF Panel) published the minutes of the sixth meeting of its Working Group (WG) on BPA assessment protocol. The meeting was held on March 2-3, 2017 in Parma, Italy. During the meeting, the WG discussed the expert feedback it received regarding the draft protocol for the screening and appraisal of the scientific literature to be used for the safety reassessment of bisphenol A (BPA, CAS 80-05-7). The WG noted that “most of the criteria to be used were agreed on.” The WG also assigned individual tasks to its members. No further detailed information was provided in the meeting minutes.
The next meeting of the WG is scheduled to be held on March 30, 2017 by phone conference.
