On June 1, 2016 the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF Panel) published the latest update of the meeting minutes of its Working Group on Food Contact Materials (WG-FCM). The 13th meeting of the WG-FCM was held on May 11-13, 2016 in Madrid, Spain. During the meeting, draft opinions on the following substances for use in FCMs were discussed: Diethyl[[3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]methyl]phosphonate (Irgamod); doverphos LGP-11 (phosphorous acid, triphenyl ester, polymer with alpha-hydro-omega-hydroxypoly[oxy(methyl-1,2-ethanediyl)], C10- 16 alkyl esters); dimethyl carbonate (for use as monomer); methanone,(2,4-diflurophenyl)(4-fluorophenyl)-; superabsorbent polymer FAVOR® P500; CO2 emitter for poultry meat; freshness indicator for poultry meat; and ground sunflower seed shells (lignocellulose).
