On March 2, 2020, the European Commission (EC) launched a public consultation on the ongoing evaluation of current EU legislation related to the irradiation of food and food ingredients. The consultation is open to all stakeholders and “aims at collecting factual information, views, opinion and experience on the application of EU legislation” related to such irradiation. A previous feedback period on a draft roadmap of the evaluation took place in 2017. The consultation will be open until May 25, 2020.
