As reported in a press release published February 26, 2014 by the non-governmental organizations Génération Futures and Réseau Environnement Sante (RES), the French National Assembly’s Commission of European Affairs tabled a report on regarding the European strategy on endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on February 25, 2014. In the report, the commission demands that the European Union rapidly publishes a comprehensive strategy and coherent criteria for EDCs. The Commission reminds of the societal costs of further delaying the strategy and rejects the notion that action on EDCs may adversely affect innovation. Finally, it calls upon the French government to independently devise a national strategy on EDCs.
