The Institute of Medicine (IOM) is a part of the U.S. National Academies. The IOM Roundtable on Environmental Health Sciences, Research, and Medicine was established to encourage dialogue amongst parties interested in environmental health. The Roundtable will hold its next workshop on March 2-3, 2015 at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, U.S.. The workshop entitled “The interplay between environmental exposures and obesity” will however also be available via webcast for those unable to attend in person. Speakers will discuss the role of chemical exposures in the development of obesity. Beverly Rubin from Tufts University, U.S. will address the use of metabolomics to study prenatal exposure to widely used food contact substance bisphenol A (BPA, CAS 80-05-7). Closing panel discussions will focus on possible future opportunities for new research and policy actions. Advanced registration is mandatory for participants attending both in-person and via webcast.
