In an article published on October 9, 2017, regulatory news provider Chemical Watch informed that the Food and Drug Authority of Saudi Arabia has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of two draft technical regulations for food contact materials (FCMs).

The first draft regulation covers general requirements for “all FCMs made of metal, glass, paper, carton, multilayered textile and wood.” The second draft regulation outlines general requirements, restrictions, and testing methods for FCMs made of plastics.

Comments on both documents can be submitted to WTO until December 1, 2017.
