In an article published on August 8, 2018, by regulatory news provider Chemical Watch, reporter Aya Kawanishi informed that Vietnam’s department of chemicals has launched a national chemicals database. The system contains 170,654 substances and will be used to support the country’s Law on Chemicals. It also provides “information on hazardous properties and the classification of chemicals for businesses and communities,” as well as “information in response to chemical incidents.”
