On February 26, 2015 the Endocrine Society published a press release announcing a simulcast press conference on economic burden of exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). A new series of studies, soon to be published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, assesses the economic burden of potential health outcomes resulting from exposure to EDCs. Financial burden of EDC-related diseases in the EU has been estimated to range between €150 to 260 billion per year. The event will take place on March 5, 2015 from 5.15 to 6.15 pm CET in Brussels, Belgium. It will feature speakers from the Endocrine Society’s annual meeting in San Diego, U.S. (via webcast) and live speakers in Brussels. Those unable to attend in person can also view only the webcast portion of the event.
