In an article published on July 28, 2015 by the UK-based advocacy group for chemical safety CHEM Trust, Gwen Buck reports on a study that illustrates the growth potential of the market for safer chemicals. The U.S.-based study – published in April 2015 – was commissioned by the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) and the Green Chemistry & Commerce Council (GC3), and developed by the consulting firm Trucost (FPF reported). Buck points out the study’s finding that environment, health and consumer organizations have helped create a demand for safer products, such as personal care items, baby products, and furnishings. CHEM Trust calls on companies to realize the innovation and job opportunities of safer chemicals.
