On May 28, 2020, the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will hold a colloquium on challenges in food and ingredient safety. The event will feature speakers from international regulatory agencies, civil society organizations, industry, and academia on using Integrated Approaches to Testing and Assessment (IATA) to generate and evaluate information within regulatory processes. The sessions “will introduce the concept, process, and components that comprise an IATA and present several case studies demonstrating different applications of this decision tool.” Discussions will also address the current challenges and prospects of adapting IATAs in regulatory risk assessment.
