On March 1, 2013 a new study on perfluorinated compounds was published in the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Health Perspectives. The authors investigated the association between different levels of exposure to perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) via contaminated drinking water and the occurrence of kidney, testicular and other cancer types previously associated with PFOA in a large human cohort. The Food Packaging Forum report summarizes the study and its most important findings.
