The presentations from the Flavorings, Additives and food Contact materials Exposure Task EU research project (FACET) closing conference, which took place 26 October 2012, are now accessible online. At the closing conference the latest dietary exposure tool funded by the 7th EU framework was presented. The tool includes a model which allows estimating migration from food contact materials (FCM). This is done through clustering of food stuffs according to their solubility properties and the clustering of food contact materials according to their respective chemical properties (i.e. polarity). Based on these estimates probabilistic models for migration of food contact substances into food can be generated.
