On October 8, 2014 the non-governmental organization ChemSec presented the updated SIN list at the SINnovation workshop in Brussels, Belgium (previously reported on by the FPF). At the workshop Geert Dancet, executive director of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) spoke on innovation in the context of the European chemical regulation REACH and Debbie Raphael, director of the San Francisco Department of the Environment, U.S., discussed how regulation can ensure safe chemicals in the market place on the example of California. Dr. Anna Lennquist of ChemSec detailed the scientific basis of the inclusion of the new substances into the updated SIN List.
